As a true fanatic, I've come to realize that there's so much potential in this series, yet I can't help but feel like it's starting to go nowhere. During the first 5 games I think we all had hoped it would lead somewhere good. However, with the roll up of the new games, I'm starting to think and feel differently. Is it still the same series? Here's a list of things that I want, and things that I don't want. This is my personal request for the future of the Assassin's Creed games.
Modern Story Lore and Depth
This is the core of the games, going back in time to hunt down for pieces of Eden is what Assassin's Creed is about. Stick to the origins of the games. People always dreamed and hoped that Desmond was being trained for a Modern day assassin, and we all know how that turned out. Speaking of which...
From Assassin's Creed Unity, it was said that Desmond's presence still coexisted with Juno's. It would be great, if it turns out he's like subject 16, and is still active, but cyber-ly, and perhaps they can do something about that. If not, bring a new modern protagonist.
I heard rumors of the next one being in Egypt, and thank god for that, but please stick to a proper atmosphere. The Assassin Order initially began as Arab (possibly Muslim) group, who all spoke Arabic and swore to the Creed, to fight for freedom against the Templars. If this is indeed a prequel(rumor), then please emphasis why it came to that and answer the question "What Happened?"
Proper Assassin/Stealth missions
I'm sick and tired or eavesdropping, chasing, and stalking people in every darn game. Some games had it good, I'll admit, but it got carried away and the Stealth feel faded away. The game has become more of a combat game, which is ridiculous. I'm not playing God of War here, I don't care for combat. I want to assassinate and flee.
References is what built this game from the very beginning starting in AC:2. When the games reference one another in terms of story, characters, and history the game actually becomes interesting. The Creed needs to be Connected, all by history and tradition. Syndicate and Unity barely gave a damn. The wort would be Black Flag...pirates...seriously?
Like the first five games had. Black Flag wasn't too great, although had some great ambiance pieces. Rogue was good. Unity and Synidicate...errr...they were...different.
Yes, we need Accents. Stick to the country's language. Include subtitles and in translated, keep the damn accent. I hated how all of France spoke English accents in Unity.
I'll be honest, I loved and adored the 3 games which included that. AC:3, AC:4, and Rogue. I did enjoy the Naval missions and battles, as well as the sailing. My problem? It's NOT Assassin's Creed. It's a Pirate Combat game, that could've made it on its own without the Assassin's Creed concept. There was no creed, or barely. I loved the games, but I discriminate them from the franchise, because again, where's the suspense? The Creed? The Stealth? Stick to the hunting theme of Assassin's Creed 1, 2, and Brotherhood. Wrong franchise, should've been the official game for Pirates of the Caribbean.
I absolutely hated the Dress code option in Liberation. It was slow, boring, annoying, and wasted too much time. The constant worry of having to change and have to have the perfect outfit was a bother. Do not bring this feature back.
Modern Merry Music
The music in Syndicate and Unity was the worst... AGAIN, NOT ASSASSIN'S CREED FEEL. I felt like I was playing a Downey Jr. in Sherlock Holmes the whole time in Syndicate. I miss the haunting feel in the first 3 Assassin's Creed games. I felt dangerous, yet also in danger. Altair felt like a ghost. I loved it. That ominous atmosphere gave me chills, but brought me back for more always.
Enough of Modern America and Europe
Jeez. 3, 4, and Rogue were pretty much the same setting, not to mention a load of copy and paste. Syndicate and Unity also shared their own little setting of modernity. ENOUGH. Jerusalem, Venice, Constantinople, and Rome were gems. They felt old, they felt ancient. Bring the series back to the past. Back to the Creed.
Thanks for reading.
