Expanded Universe and Assassin's Creed Show

I do not know if this has been talked about in the community, and I do not know the state of the live

action movie or show. But wouldn't you guys like to see an assassin's creed anime. I feel like it would

work better than a live action show, especially under the right animation studio.

My biggest concern is the story not making sense. The main story has always worked, but those little bits of information given on the side (like recordings and old docs and stuff) rattle my perfectionist brain, because I'm pretty sure that the guy making a new show will not read those. Regarding leaning on the fantasy side, my opinion is on the negative side. Call me old fashioned, but the magic of AC is believing it might have happened. That's why they always made an effort to make it historically accurate, from History to buildings. Then you have "the bigger picture", with pieces of Eden and ancient civilizations, which are the reason why there's a conflict. Those are given in small doses, because that's not the essence of AC. What makes AC what it is is the exploration of periods of our History that have not been explored in other games. That's it. All it needs is a great story. I'd keep magic away from it, otherwise it'll enter the fantasy genre and lose itself.

I must be one of these "perfectionist old fashioned" people too, as it is a little annoying for me to watch the Templar soldiers walk all over the places in AC 1 (can't remember right now if there was this same mistake on any other AC game) and holding their hand on hilt like they would attack the next eye blink. Maybe this is also the reason why I usually kill pretty many of them as I don't like to be challenged all the time. :D Old times armsmen didn't even touch their sword unless they were about to attack, if they held their hilt it was actually considered as a threat towards others or a challenge. But I agree the historical facts are the thing that makes AC what it is. Though there was magic used in history both black and white magic, it still wasn't the kind of magic one would quickly think. I know nothing what it needs or takes to make any games, but I have a feeling it might be too challenging to add the historically correct magic in the game.

I think the show can go into the realm of fantasy just because of who origins worked. It seemed like they were wrapping up the story from 3 where they talked about how we live in a digital world, and origins took it a bit further by saying we are a simulation to prevent something from happening. I think that is something anime studios could work with as far a plot goes. It isn't to far from some current animes. they just need to make it different enough to standout from all those other animes, and lore accurate to not alienate AC fans.

As you said before,if the right animation studio is chosen, it can work

Does not seem like a bad idea....but.....my own thoughts would be i would like Ubisoft to not get too wrapped in exploiting what they have created. I would like to see them take their time and not rush in to simply giving fans another game (or even a TV show, movie or whatever). So far each game has been quite good, they have had some bad aspects but mostly they have been good. Same can be said the movie as well.

Absolutely. Even if it Strays a little bit more towards the fantasy aspect. Like assassins literally appear from Shadows
