old formula

Hi, first before you read the rest this is my just my opnion, i'm playing ac odyssey and i don't like it as much as i thought when origins came out i thought it was a good game because it showed the start of the brotherhood but oddyssey is in my opinion no assassin's creed game when the formula changed the franchise did to with origin but for that game i forgave it but odyssey pushed it even further with the combat system, enemy leveling, dialogue choises and the character selection also no assassin botherhood except for present day, also it starts to feel more like a fantasy game instead of a game in the past wwhere you are fighting the templars in secret, i truly miss the old formula of a story that you follow and go along with without multyple endings, where you neak around locate your tatget and assassinated him or her (and they actually died) not you sneak in and your target is 1 lev el higher so your cover is blown because they where not dead in one hit also the combat system wa easy i know but it had a charm in it, also in oddysey the character selection feels so wrong and i believe syndicate also had a somewhat character selection but it was done so much better, so with all of this said i hope we may get back to the original formula instead of this rpg game it is going to now, i honestly miss how the games where like before.

I have noticed horses, humans and generally all in the games has gone to the direction of Elvenar. All characters are like from a cartoon now not like from real world. And seems Odyssey is worst of them all what I have watched the trailers. I know a lot of it has to do with how pc's and other devices run real looking landscape and such but how the old games managed to do it if the newer ones can't.

you're absolult right, it all just looks set in a fantasy world now, the thing that makes me most araid off all is that they will never return to the old formula because of the new "fans" if you ask me is still prefer unity, syndicate and 3 over oddyssey, games that a lost off people hate, honestly i hate oddyssey and loved those other ones they where at least still assassin's creed games

I agree that odyssey doesn't feel like a true AC game like origins, Syndicate, Unity etc. However. To me, it felt like a build up to origins. I know that origins came out before odyssey, however. Acording to historic dates and many hints about the timesetting in the game, Odyssey (I don't mean the gameplay outside of the animus, but rather the timeline you explore inside the animus) comes before Origins in the AC timeline. Origins plays more near the end of Ceaser and and Odyssey a couple of decades after the battle of 300. For those who don't know, the battle of 300 was about 480 bc while the death of Caeser was on march 15 44 bc. I haven't looked at every single historic fact supporting the dates of Odyssey, but it still shows that Odyssey happend before Origins time. And the way Alexios/Kassandra act in their lives closely resembels the ways of the Medjay from Origins. Skilled fighers, archers, craftsmen, hunters, trackers, horseback riders (or camels in origins) and their way of handeling certain hunts (like the hunt for *The early templars*) all come back in Origins (Again, I know those things have been introduced in Origins first). Since the Greek came into contact with the roman empire at one point and even made its way to Egypt (there are multible sections of Origins where you come across greek tempels, towns etc) and thus it would make sense for people like Alexios/Kassandra made their way there too, I haven't played or whatched legacy of the first hidden blade yet, so I'm sure there are a lot more hints to the true origins that odyssey pointed to. This exspierience is solly based on what I felt andd thought during my gameplay of Odyssey. Thanks for reading.

Let one say first nothing wrong with your English. Your are quite right with your analysis of the older games versus the newer ones. My biggest annoyance with Odyssey is that it is meandering game. Sure it looks good and plays well enough but it is like a George RR Martin novel, exceedingly long and tedious meandering story with excessive character number with exciting bits here and there that simply serve as a method by which to meander on to the next part of the story. I put down Odyssey down over two weeks ago....I simply got bored and it is the first of all the games that I own that has elicited such a response which is the real let down. As always: may the father of understanding guide you (and us all away from the current RPG crap)

I Totally agree with you, last week i tried to play Origins for second time, adn i was so irritated that i can not kill the enemy with HIDDENBLADE just because he is higher level....

i think odyssey is just a game that they are using to further a certain storyline. in this, the first civilization. its no assassin's story but its still a building block for something that may come. plus this is second of three games they were planning to set in the ancient world. So maybe its meant to be an intermission. As far as the gameplay goes, I understand that they were going for a game like the witcher but the fact that they made the game really gender neutral and politically correct to appeal to a wider audience kinda compromises what old fans are used too. I would have been fine with either a male or female protagonist, but i think the story could have benefited from just having a set character in terms of gender. Honestly, I loved Origins and I liked Odyssey for what it is, but playing the AC remastered made me miss the old gameplay mechanics and the set story. The real last two AC games we got were unity and syndicate and I say that because Edward never really was an assassin rather one by association kinda acted different because of it. IDK, I'm kinda teared up over if i want the games to go back the old formula or still be an RPG like they are becoming now.
