You either die as a good game, or live long enough to become garbage

This series has been around for 12 years and it's only getting worse.

Your not wrong. I admit I was sceptical when the approach of Assassin's Creed: Origin's was announced. It definitely was a departure from what had come for it but was sensible enough across the board (story wise, character wise, production wise, voice acting wise, etc etc) to be of some value. Assassin's creed: Odyssey on the other hand is a different story altogether. In all the Assassin's Creed games (and i have them all) and all the PS games I have (which is a lot considering I still own a function PS2), Odyssey is the very first game to bore me. YES.....It BORED me. The story to me seemed to me to be the result of a brain storming sessions over a few too many beers and pizza. The script was and is atrocious. (Google the history of the word 'fuck' if you disagree). The mechanics of the game where in a word plain stupid (I rest my case here with getting the power to swim under water for long periods without having to surface for air all the time carrying perpetually flaming trident and don't get me started on being able to leap from great heights without taking damage). The characters where about as dynamic as a potato and the acting was no better. It has been 8 weeks plus since I turned my PS4 Pro off and I have not been motivated to finish off Odyssey yet

I agree with all of what you said! I'll add that the game made a huge storytelling error by constantly introducing new characters who were insignificant because you only saw them once before moving on to new places. The only characters who stayed throughout the story were uninteresting. I think one of the main problems was that Alexios wasn't himself a proper character - the player could choose what he said. He was like a blank canvas. I don't know what that added to the game.
